For our custom cabinet boxes we use 3/4" veneer plywood on the sides, tops, bottoms, adjustable shelves, and back.
Cabinet interiors are finished with stain and 7 coats of industrial precatalized finish. Cabinet interiors are as durable and nice looking as the exteriors.
On the faces we use 3/4" solid wood face frames. Most all types of wood can be used with matching doors and drawer fronts. You choose the door styles, types of cabinets, type of wood, and finish color.
Our custom cabinets are hand made. These are top of the line cabinets and they don't cost much more than average quality cabinets available in stores.

For a quick, rough estimate:
Count your drawer fronts and false drawers. Divide this number by 4. Add to this the number of doors you have. Large doors count as 2. To this total multiply times $300.00. This is the total cost to remove your existing cabinets, custom build new cabinets, and install them in the Des Moines, Iowa area. Prices vary depending on the doors style and type of wood.
Example:
8 drawers / 4 = 2 + 20 doors = 22 x $300 = $6600.00
